Yesterday we had the innocent pleasure of finding out how the gorgeous interior of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz AMG GT (C190) will look like.
A couple of days ago we showed you a somewhat feasible rendering of how its exterior might turn out, while a few months back we speculated that its platform might be used to replace the aging Aston Martin V/H architecture in the future.
Despite all these bits of information, one of the most important details was constantly eluding us, and that is how will the new M178 engine sound.
Considering that it will be a four-liter twin-turbocharged V8 made by AMG, we didn't expect it to sound pretty bad, but then again, the now legendary M156 naturally-aspirated V8 is a pretty hard act to follow in the soundtrack area.
Well, if the following two videos are anything to go by, the new M178 will definitely not disappoint, as the obligatory “V8 by AMG” burble is heard loud and clear.
Keep in mind that the two following models are pre-production prototypes so the final exhaust sound might get even better by the time that the AMG GT is launched in July, at the Hockenheim Grand Prix.
