People have different wants and needs, so it's only normal for the "perfect" comfort level in a tiny home on wheels to vary from person to person. Some people want their rigs to be filled with features, while others are happy with a minimal, efficient setup. The camper van I'm checking out today fits in the latter category.
Meet Nik and Yas, the owners and converters of this awesome rig. What we have here is a 2014 Peugeot Boxer L3H2 measuring 6 meters (19.7 feet) in length. The two have lived and traveled inside this mobile home for over two years.

Converting a van into a camper isn't easy. However, it can certainly be done if you have ambition, creativity, and a well-defined budget. Take Nik, Yas, and their build as an example. They had little to no building experience, yet they managed to create this superb rig. Yes, it took them 9 to 10 months to complete the conversion, but all the time spent on it was definitely worth it.

As usual, I'll start the tour with the exterior. You'll be able to tell this is a camper as soon as you lay eyes on it. Several elements give away its "camper identity."

At the rear, the couple installed a ladder. Climb on it, and on top of the van, you'll discover a skylight, a vent fan, and a roof rack holding a 335 W solar panel, a waterproof bag, and three surfboards. Other notable exterior features are a chimney outlet and a pull-up bar.

Slide the main door open, and a beautifully designed interior will greet you. Nik and Yas wanted the interior to be as light as possible while also providing a lot of space to move around inside. The look was inspired by the white cave-like hotels in Greece. The living space boasts a minimalistic design with warm colors and an open, roomy feel. One significant reason why it feel so spacious is thatce there are no overhead cabinets like in most other camper van builds.

You'll notice a closed layout, meaning the living space is separated from the driver's cabin by a partition wall with a small emergency door. Although this modification makes the interior feel a tad bit smaller, it also makes it feel more like a home since you won't constantly see the driver's cabin. The door is a useful addition, as it allows them to quickly hop behind the driver's seat in case of an emergency.

The driver's cabin wasn't significantly changed. Nik and Yas installed a rear-view mirror camera and created a workspace on the passenger seat with a very simple setup consisting of a foldable table.

Dead ahead as you enter the "camper part" of the van, you'll find an L-shaped kitchen. It features a small fridge/freezer, a deep sink, and a built-in two-burner stove. A nice touch is that the counter next to the entrance has a curved design to prevent the couple from accidentally hitting it while entering the van.

Nik and Yas devised various spots for storage. They have many drawers and cabinets, a pantry, a spice rack, and a sizeable headliner shelf. There's also loads of counter space available, so cooking more complicated meals inside this van isn't an issue.

Opposite the kitchen, the duo devised a counter that serves as a wardrobe with three massive drawers.

My favorite feature in the front part of the interior is a swing. Nik and Yas fitted two rings in the door frame and a pull-up bar above the entrance, both of which can hold a swing. Moreover, it's perfectly positioned for you to enjoy the surrounding views while swinging.

In the front left corner of the kitchen, the duo installed a mini wood stove that provides proper heating in cold environments while also making the space feel cozier. The walls behind the stove have a white tiled backsplash that protects them from the heat generated.

It's difficult to create a fixed bathroom in a camper van this small. So, Nik and Yas came up with a clever solution. What looks like a standard counter next to the bed is, in fact, a hidden bathroom.

Open the counter door and flip up the countertop, and you'll reveal a shower pan and a portable toilet. You won't find a water mixer inside - the couple uses the sink's extendable faucet as a shower head. Furthermore, it can be pulled outside through the kitchen's small window.

Setting the shower up is easy. All you have to do is remove the toilet, attach a curtain to magnetic hooks on the ceiling, pull the faucet inside, and you're good to go. With this setup, the couple managed to create a bathroom without sacrificing valuable real estate.

The lounge/bedroom occupies the rear part of the interior. It boasts a U-shaped couch and a swivel table in the middle, offering plenty of space to accommodate guests.

You can turn the couch into an 182-centimeter-long (6-foot-long) bed by lowering the tabletop to connect the benches and rearranging the cushions. Nik and Yas also created a hidden compartment with four outlets, three USB and one USB-C.

The space underneath the bed serves as a garage that's only accessible by opening the two rear doors. It's where Nik and Yas store sun umbrellas, two 20-liter (5.3-gallon) water jugs, and various tools and other belongings.

You'll also discover the utility systems back here. The power system's highlights are a 200 Ah lithium battery, a 1,500 W inverter, a DC-DC charger, and a charge controller connected to the 335 W solar panel on the roof.

Regarding plumbing, Nik and Yas installed a 90-liter (32.8-gallon) freshwater tank connected to a water pump. What's more, the cabinet underneath the sink houses a water heater and an extra greywater tank, as the main one is located underneath the vehicle.

All in all, this is a proper tiny home on wheels that excellently blends fine aesthetics with much-needed functionality. It's cozy, doesn't feel cramped at all, yet still manages to integrate many creature comforts to make full-time, off-grid living possible.
