Skoolies have become increasingly popular lately, and for good reason. Buses are cheap, provide a bunch of real estate, and are typically reliable, among other reasons. Today, I'm discussing an awesome build that serves as a full-time home for a couple.
Meet Alan, Moshera, and their skoolie, Bedu. The bus was named after "Bedouin," the Arabic word for desert nomad. It's a 1995 International 3800, a popular choice among skoolie builders.

As usual, I'll start the tour with the exterior. This rig is finished in pale green paint with a white roof. Like most skoolies, this bus has exterior storage boxes. That's where the couple holds two propane canisters, outdoor gear, tools, and a lot more.

At the front, Alan and Moshera attached a bike rack to the bumper, which holds two mountain bikes. You'll also notice the original bus door was replaced with a house one with a lock.

A ladder mounted on the passenger side of the bus allows you to climb on top of the vehicle. Up there, you'll find a wooden deck and many solar panels with a total capacity of 1,500 W.

That's enough to sustain off-grid travel, especially when you pair with a powerful battery pack. In this couple's case, their electrical system has 800 Ah batteries.

The green color theme continues inside, as the driver's cabin has a green ceiling - however, the design changes in the rest of the interior.

Alan and Moshera opted for a bright, cozy aesthetic with a white slatted ceiling, white cabinetry paired with wooden accents, and various darker touches, such as black handles and grey flooring. Furthermore, I'm fond of the interior's open feel – you can see the rear of the bus standing in the driver's cabin, as the hallway remains straight as you walk deeper into the bus.

The first part of the interior, past the driver's cabin, is the living room. It consists of a dinette area with two benches and a table between them, as well as a long couch that can be transformed into a bed.

Right next to the dinette area, the couple installed a tiny wood stove surrounded by white and green tiles. It's not the main heat source, as there's a diesel heater located toward the rear of the interior. Moreover, underneath it, the couple left space to be able to store firewood.

The stove gets very hot, so the duo only uses it in freezing environments. In addition to heating, the stove can also create a cozy ambiance inside this tiny home. Imagine sitting on the couch opposite it while you read a book and listen to the wood crackle.

Next, we have the kitchen, which occupies a large chunk of interior space. It's split into two parts and features a massive sink, an oven/three-burner stove combo, a ton of counter space, and a huge, apartment-size fridge/freezer.

Kitchen storage isn't an issue in this mobile home. Alan and Moshera have devised countless storage spots, such as wall-mounted baskets, cabinets (including overhead ones), and drawers.

Walk past the kitchen, and you'll discover the bathroom on your left, opposite the fridge. In fact, it's one of the two parts of the bathroom. It boasts a composting toilet, a sink/cabinet combo, and a beautiful round mirror. What's more, I love the bathroom's look, with a slatted design in the lower half and a black-and-white wallpaper depicting plants.

Next to it, Alex and Moshera devised a huge hanging closet with drawers - it's where they store bulkier clothes. Above it, there's a 12 V A/C unit.

The shower space doesn't look as good as the other part of the bathroom, but it does the job. It has cedar planking, a vent fan on the ceiling, a shower, and a tub-style pan.

On the opposite side, the bus used to have bunk beds. Alex and Moshera replaced it with a simple and clean workspace. It comprises a large butcherblock countertop, a wall-mounted monitor, and a bench.

Finally, we have the bedroom at the rear. A queen-size bed occupies the entire width-wise space, and it can be lifted to reveal additional storage space, the electrical system, and water tanks.

The couple uses a large U-shaped shelf for storage. Other notable bedroom details are a PlayStation 5 connected to a TV attached to a swivel mount and an LED sign that reads "Get Naked." The latter is a fitting addition to the bedroom.

I just have to mention Alex and Mosher's extremely cute setup for their two cats. They attached a sort of crib to the wall in the bedroom, as well as tiny stairs to allow their twenty-year-old cat to get into bed with them.

All in all, Alex and Mosher did a great job with this conversion. Their tiny home on wheels is comfortable, stylish, and super functional.
