Earlier today, we showed you the F82 BMW M4 lapping the Nurburgring and now it’s time to let our spy photographers show you how the M3 is dealing with the task.
The new M3 will bet on the lightweight card, with the vehicle set to make extensive use of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer), as well as of other solutions, to shed an expected 200 lbs (90 kg).
As for the power, this will come from a new turbocharged six-cylinder unit that will deliver between 400 and 450 HP - it’s still unclear if BMW will make use of the rumored three-turbo setup.
The testing equipment fitted to the front wheels of the prototype here could make some ask themselves if BMW is testing the xDrive system on the M3, but this is probably not the case - the carmaker has repeatedly stressed the fact that it will keep the RWD layout, at least for now.
