We now know the official name of the compact luxury concept that Infiniti is bringing to the 81st edition Geneva Motor Show. The company also found fit to release a set of four images showing the muscular-looking four-door vehicle.
“ETHEREA is about a new type of luxury for younger buyers. It is not just a smaller version of a typically conservative and traditional luxury car,” said Toru Saito, Corporate Vice President and Leader of the Global Infiniti Business Unit, in the official press release.
Actually, the name of the car is not that much of a surprise, as the previous teaser image revealed the car could be called the Etheria, as this was the naming of the image files. We can’t tell you if the automaker changed its mind or this was just a mistake, but the actual name is Infiniti ETHEREA (yes, in all caps).
This could be the shape of a future entry-level model that is offered to customers looking for a “new type of luxury”. It was designed by the direction of Senior Vice President of Design Shiro Nakamura to combine elements from coupes, hatchbacks, sedans and even crossovers.
If you want to see the concept with your own eyes, we cat tell you that it will make its debut on the Infiniti stand at 12:15 CET on Tuesday 1 March 2011.
autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
