With the 81st edition of Geneva Motor Show coming in less than a month, most major carmakers’ marketing teams are going into overdrive, releasing more and more commercials, teasers or renderings of new concept cars and design ideas.
Japanese automaker Infiniti will also be coming to Geneva next month, where they will be unveiling what looks like a coupe-ish hatchback. The announcement was made through a press release and accompanied by two teaser images that show just a few of the car’s aggressive lines.
While the company did not officially divulge the name of the concept, the Infiniti Etheria name was left in the image file names by ‘accident’. So we don’t officially know its name, but we can tell you it will fit below the current G Line in the model range and promises to be completely different to anything currently offered by rivals, according to the press release.
“Infiniti is currently examining concepts for a luxury performance car that will fit below the current G Line. Like every Infiniti, it will be completely different to anything currently offered by our rivals.” stated Andy Palmer, Senior Vice President for Infiniti, at the opening of the Infiniti Center Piccadilly in London in September last year.
As neither the sketches nor the images tell us much about the upcoming model, we’ll just have to wait a few more days to see what the Infiniti Etheria concept is all about.
autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
