While we have taken some issue with the fact that BMW has turned the two-door 3-Series into the 4-Series, and then basically turned it back into a four-door and called it the 4-Series Gran Coupe, the car is coming, and a rendered image of what it will look like has already hit the web, being based on the two-door version, revealed last week.
The 4-Series Gran Coupe will most likely be priced in-between the 3-Series and 4-Series, in a similar manner to what they have done with the 6-Series and the Gran Coupe version of that. It will also share its entire range of engines with the two-door variant, while offering the same coupe-like styling and a more stylish exterior, for those for whom the regular 3-Series is just not special enough.
The car is set to arrive on the market in 2014, and it has its sights set firmly on the Audi A5 Sportback. If priced correctly, it could be a hit, but if they make it too expensive, and there is a high likelihood of them doing that, then it will not be that successful, we say.
