Launched back in 2011, the second generation of the gorgeous Mercedes-Benz CLS is heading towards its first mid-cycle facelift, with only a few months until the refreshed model hits the market.
As a testament to how good were designer Hubert Lee's lines on the original model, the facelift will be very subtle when seen from afar, with the front and rear bumpers receiving pretty subdued overhauls, while the engine grille will be pushed slightly forward and given the “star grille” look from the CLA and A-Class on some of its versions.
The interior gets a new steering wheel, similar to the three-spoked ones from the new S-Class Coupe (C217) and C-Class (W205), while the center console gets a new free-standing screen and a touchpad between the seats, with the driver also being given a color head-up display system.
The following short spy video by DrGumoLunatic features a highly-camouflaged CLS 63 AMG version of the model, which should be revealed soon after the normal variant as a MY 2015.
The AMG should sport the same 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 as the current model, with 557 hp in the “regular” variant and 585 hp in the “S-Model.”
