With the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards just around the corner, as the 2014 Detroit Auto Show is set to commence in a week, Chevrolet’s brand new Silverado, one of NACTOY’s finalists in the latter category, was named the 2014 Pickup Truck of the Year by the Four Wheeler magazine.
Specifically, Four Wheeler has chosen the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 Crew Cab as pickup truck of the year, placing it above the Toyota Tundra SR5 CrewMax and the Ram 2500 Outdoorsman Crew Cab.
“Four Wheeler really puts pickups to the test, on road and off, and the results showcase the capability and refinement that our team built into the new Silverado,” said Jeff Luke, the truck’s executive chief engineer.
Last month, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was named Fleet Truck of the Year by Automotive and Business Fleet magazines.
GM’s truck is also nominated for the 2014 North American Car and Truck of the Year, making it to the truck/utility category finals alongside the Acura MDX and the Jeep Cherokee.
