Imagine you try to pull such tire-melting moves in a Rolls-Royce. Oh, the public’s wrath will strike you. Oh, did we say “wrath”? We actually meant “Wraith”. since we have a set of Rolls-Royce Wraith burnouts for you.
The chap pulling the stunt not only got away with it, but was received applause from what it one the most educated automotive audiences in the world - that’s because the shenanigan took place at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Yes, this was some sort of an official thing and since it’s not everyday you see the Spirit of Ecstasy makes use their creations for such purposes, everybody was thrilled. The clip below brings a part of the show, which also included a series of drifts that were not caught on camera here.
Marketing the Wraith as a sporty proposal would be fine by us, had the car made more efforts in this direction. “What do you mean?” we hear you asking. For instance, when we drove the Rolls-Royce Wraith earlier this year, we found a level of body roll comparable to that of the Ghost. While that was totally acceptable gives the sedan nature of the latter, the Wraith coupe should’ve displayed a more dynamic setup along with its otherwise majestic presence.
Oh well, at least this is a Grand Tourer that easily allows you to put the electronics to sleep, if that is what you desire.
