Some 320 units from Yamaha's 2011 Vino Classic scooter family have been recalled by the NHTSA, though the campaign number 13V416000. Also known by their model name of XC50A, these Vino Classic two-wheelers may develop an issue with their braking system, so immediate action is required.
The NHTSA summarizes the problems in the imperfect adhesion between the braking shoe liner and its support, possibly causing a separation. In such a case, with the liner no longer attached to the braking shoe, the stopping force would be dramatically reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.

Yamaha will notify the customers starting early October 2013 and a free replacement of the front and rear brake shoes will be scheduled.

Customers can contact Yamaha at 1-800-962-7926.
