The current BMW 1 Series is one impressive machine. Even though many people complained about its looks, the improvements over the previous version are noticeable. You can even get an xDrive M135i now, in case you longed for a four-wheel-drive 1er.
The xDrive version of the M135i is actually pretty exciting. It has the same engine as the standard version but comes only with an automatic 8-speed ZF gearbox. The 3-liter N55 turbocharged engine delivers the same 320 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque but, in this case, to all 4 wheels.
The guys from MagazineMotorsport got they hands on one of these babies and, of course, tested what was most important: the acceleration. Their video shows us not only the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint (that is done with in 4.7 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the rear-wheel-drive version) but also the 0-200 km/h (0-125 mph) time.
In case you were wondering, we estimate the car reached 200 km/h in around 17 seconds, which is really impressive, especially since the rear-wheel-drive M135i does the same benchmark in about 19 seconds.
