I'll admit that it's extremely difficult to strike the perfect match between capability, price, and comfort in a travel trailer. However, one crew known to offer just that is WeeRoll, the one and the same responsible for the Silver Moon camper we featured a while ago. This time around, I've discovered that WeeRoll has been busy. Today, they offer a special something on their website: their 2024 Gladiator, an off-road-ready habitat selling for no more than $17,000 (€15,600 at current exchange rates)!
That's right, folks, the hunk of off-roading goodness before you is one of WeeRoll's Gladiator, and yes, it's selling for a starting price of only $17,000. If you've been searching for an aluminum canvas for your future mobile home, listen up.

Before we hop into all that is the Gladiator, it's important to note a thing or two about WeeRoll. First and foremost, according to their Facebook page, this manufacturer has been around since 2016. One way they differ from other manufacturers is by allowing future customers to begin their camper dreams with nothing more than a chassis, electrical systems, plumbing, and some walls and insulation; let's not forget the roof.

That said, the $17K you need to get your hands on a Gladiator will include the more simple units you see in the gallery. The rest of what your future home looks like is entirely up to you and your budget. But if you don't have a whole bunch of ash to invest in your Gladiator right away, you'll be able to build it up as the weeks and years pass.

Yes, years, because one of the attractive aspects of WeeRoll is the fact that good old aluminum is used to bring their units to life, and the Gladiator is no exception. That said, we all know how long aluminum can fight off the elements, and that's benefit number one of owning a WeeRoll unit: its lifetime, assuming you take care of it and all that.

Overall, we're looking at an all-aluminum chassis with a 1.5-inch extruded aluminum floor and aluminum-skinned and insulated walls, both inside and out, which, mind you, are screwless, so there's no way for the elements to seep into your unit. The roof is set through a screwless process, too, and even comes with a 100% leakproof guarantee, all thanks to an internal drainage system that WeeRoll has in place.

Throw in two rear doors, aside from the two already integrated into the unit's sides, walkable fenders, and we're looking at a machine that can handle so much more than what $17K ought to. I nearly forgot to point out the Dexter Torsion axle with independent suspension. Yup, that's off-road-worthy, alright, but noting it is too crazy. Other than that, all that WeeRoll installs as standard into the Gladiator is an electrical system, prewired for just about anything, a manual jack, and cutouts for AC units and fans.

As for how we get to own a unit like WeeRoll displays on their website, you'll need to dish out a tad more cash on some upgrades. If you pick your poisons properly, you'll be able to walk away from the lot by spending only a couple thousand more. Or you can check out a GLadiator that WeeRoll has for sale at this time with quite a lineup of add-on features.

It's going for just $6 short of $20K. It's that Desert Sand version; I've labeled it in the image gallery for easy identification because you never know. Maybe you've got $20K ready to fly on a mobile habitat that comes across as well worth the cash, at least from where I'm standing. It's rocking a roof rack, spare tire mount, tire included, nose-cone toolbox, and even some interior shelving. All that's really missing is an inflatable mattress, one or two pillows, a blanket, and a little galley block with an eco toilet. An outdoor shower shouldn't cost you too much, either. Heck, for around $25K, you'll even have a portable power generator in the mix; be sure to shop around.

For the remainder of this story, I want you to picture yourself in possession of one of these soda cans with wheels. Think about the sort of features you'd add to the interior. See yourself and your significant other talking about interior design; someone mentions lots of stringed LEDs. Then, once you've got it all figured out, throw it in. Maybe you need some professional help to mount things, and before long, you've got yourself your very own camper.

Once we start to consider the suspension, chassis, and bodywork, you can also start to see yourself in your truck, crossing dried-up riverbeds, sand dunes, and terrains that don't actually have any roads. This one's all about carving your own path in this life and, in the process, doing it all to your liking, the way life ought to be.
