VW Passat CC R-Line Revealed

Volkswagen has just presented the new Passat CC R-line, a sporty model that is already available for ordering. The R designation brings a number of enhancements, at both the exterior and the interior.

For instance, the car comes with 17-inch R-Line Mallory alloy wheels (18-inch are available as optional) plus 235/45 tires. Additionally, it has a new front spoiler and side skirts painted in the same color as the rest of the body, while the rear lights are smoked.

Inside, the CC R-Line has four customised tread plates in aluminium (with R-Line Logo in front) and a three-spoke leather-trimmed steering wheel with multifunction keys. Front fog lights, sport seats, a climate control function and VW's Park Pilot system are also included in the package.

The R package will be available for all Passat CC engines, with pricing starting at 2,200 euro for the 2.0 TDI (140 PS / 103 kW) with a 6-speed gearbox.

In standard form, the Passat CC is offered with a total of three engines, including the top-of-the-line 3.6-liter V6. This particular option develops a maximum power of 300 hp at 6,600 rpm and 320 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. In terms of performance, this means the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, while reaching a top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h). Fuel consumption goes around 15.5 mpg (15.2 L/100Km) city and 32.2 mpg (7.3 L/100Km) highway if we are to trust the official figures.
