Earlier this year, Volkswagen introduced the ID.7 GTX Tourer to the automotive world. Fast-forward to today, and the lineup has expanded with the ID.7 GTX Sedan.
Following in the footsteps of its station wagon sibling, the ID.7 GTX Sedan features the same mechanicals and comes with a few exclusive touches inside and out that differentiate it from the non-GTX models in the brand's lineup.

Together with the ID.7 GTX Tourer, the ID.7 GTX Sedan is the company's most powerful electric vehicle*. It uses a dual-motor setup with all-wheel drive that puts 335 hp (340 ps/250 kW) under the driver's right foot. Naught to sixty-two mph (0-100 kph) is dealt with in 5.4 seconds.

But what about the range? Volkswagen quotes 370 miles (595 km) on a single charge on the WLTP cycle, adding that it can be charged up to 200 kW. The 86 kWh battery pack can be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in less than half an hour.

Visually, the new Volkswagen ID.7 GTX Sedan (technically, it's a fastback) doesn't stand out that much from the rest of the family. Sure, there are some tweaks at the front and rear, including a unique light design and new 20-inch alloys, as well as tiny GTX logos below each side mirror, but the rest remains the same.

Opening the door will reveal a pair of front sports seats with extra side bolstering end GTX embossing. The sporty electric car has contrasting red topstitching, additional red accents, and so on. The 30-color ambient lighting is on deck, and the German automaker also mentions the smartphone connectivity, head-up display with augmented reality, voice assistant with integrated ChatGPT, a two-zone climate control, keyless access, heated seats, etc. The remote parking function is an option and allows users to control the parking procedures via their smartphone.

Picking up an ID.7 GTX Tourer will give you a more spacious cargo area rated at 21.4 cu-ft (605 liters), larger than the ID.7 GTX Sedan's 18.8 cu-ft (532 liters). The station wagon is one-tenth of a second slower to 62 mph (5.5s), and it can drive up to 364 miles (585 km) on a full charge.

VW's ID.7 range has been available in the Pro specification, with a 77 kWh battery. However, the company has expanded it with the ID.7 Pro S, which uses the same 86 kWh battery as the GTX. The ID.7 Tourer Pro S can travel up to 429 miles (690 km), and the fastback has a 441-mile (709 km) autonomy.

The new VW ID.7 GTX Sedan and Tourer will launch in Europe this summer, and it's yet unknown whether they will touch down in our market. You see, the normal ID.7 has yet to arrive in the New World, and if the GTX arrives here, it might make do without its suffix, given that Volkswagen has already confirmed the dropping of the GTX badging.
