Volkswagen has released the European pricing for the 2011 Passat, a vehicle that has recently been unveiled at the Paris Auto Show. The facelifted version of the Passat is already on sale, but the first customers will receive their cars in January next year.
The B7 Passat offers an engine range that includes three diesel units, three petrol powerplants, as well as a unit that delivers 150 hp running on natural gas (this uses the Ecofuel name). The petrol side of the range includes a 1.4 liter TSI developing 122 hp, a 1.8 liter TSI that produces 160 hp and a 2.0 liter TSI unit with an output of 211 hp. As for the diesel part of the line-up, this comes with a 105 hp 1.6l TDI, as well as with two versions of a 2.0 liter TDI unit that produce 140 and 170 hp, respectively.
Customers will be able to choose between the following equipment levels: Trendline (the entry-level one), Comfortline and Highline.
The basic incarnation of the new Passat comes with a list of standard features that includes eight airbags, ESP, ABS, ASR, EDL, MSR, a Climatronic automatic climate control system, an electronic parking brake, an MP3 audio system, an on-board computer and a front armrest with a storage compartment.
The 2011 Passat comes with a starting price of EUR25,100, for the sedan 1.4 liter TSI Trendline version fitted with the eco-orientated BlueMotion Technology. The estate version can be yours starting from a price of EUR26,200. If you are planning to buy the Ecofuel natural gas version, be prepared to spend at least EUR30,150.
