Volkswagen has prepared a special brand experience for the UK public, as the carmaker will showcase the latest vehicles in its performance range tomorrow, at the SMMT Test Day at Millbrook.Volkswagen will offer visitors a chance to get up close and personal with the Golf R, the Scirocco R and the left hand drive new Polo GTI, which will enter the country’s market later this year.
The Polo GTI uses a twin-charged 1.4 liter TSI powerplant that develops 180 hp, while returning a combined fuel consumption figure of 47 UK mpg and emitting just 139 g of CO2/km. The engine is mated to a dual clutch DSG gearbox and sends its power to the front wheels.
The Polo GTI is now available for order in the UK, with the first deliveries expected to take place in July. The three-door version of the hot sub-compact has a price of 18,275 pounds, with a 600 pounds premium for the five door version.
The Scirocco R is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that offers a 55 hp and 51 lb-ft of torque increase over the 2.0 liter TSI Scirocco, delivering a total output of 265 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.
The Golf R, which is developed by Volkswagen R Gmbh, is the most powerful and fastest accelerating Golf ever produced. It is equipped with a 2.0 liter TSI four-cylinder engine that offers 270 hp and a new four wheel drive system.
