The E-Bugster concept car was revealed at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, combining a focused attitude with electric propulsion to create a stunning car that looks fit for the track, or at least fitter than the regular Beetle. A promo video also came with the reveal and VW has taken a sort of Tron: The Electric Bug attitude to creating the spot.
We’re not going to jump up with joy at the thought of an electric Beetle, but the idea of a Beetle Speedster is pretty awesome. The stripped down car has only two seats, offers a wider track and is lower than the 21st Century Bug.
Powering the concept is a n electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack that offer an output of 114 hp and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft). Also, it has an estimated range of about 100 miles.
