Novitec has had the Ferrari 296 GTB in its portfolio for a while now, and it has just given its open-top sibling, the 296 GTS, a similar makeover and some mechanical upgrades.
In the looks department, the Ferrari 296 GTS by Novitec features naked-carbon add-ons. The bodywork components include the new chin spoiler, another piece for the large air intake, a fresh ducktail spoiler, a custom diffuser, rocker panels, new trim for the side mirrors and quarter windows, and side air intake surrounds.

According to the famous tuner, the Italian supercar benefits from boosted aerodynamics with these components, stating that it has reduced front-axle lift and more downforce at high speeds. The redesign also includes a set of aftermarket alloys. The NF10 set has five twin spokes and came from Vossen. It measures 9.5x21 inches at the front and 11.5x22 inches at the rear, and the 255/30 and 335/25 tires front and rear hug the new alloys.

No supercar tuning job would be complete without a lower ground clearance, and the Ferrari 296 GTS by Novitec has this aspect covered, too. The tuner says it sits around 35 mm (1.4 inches) closer to the asphalt, courtesy of the new sports springs. The nose-lift system makes it easier to drive over speed bumps as it raises the front end by approximately 40 mm (1.6 in) at the push of a button. The vehicle reverts back to the original setting at a second push of a button or automatically when reaching 50 mph (80 kph).

Novitec has also made the engine breathe easier with the new high-performance exhaust system. Two options are available here, one made of stainless steel and the other of INCONEL. Thermal insulation is available in both cases with additional 999 fine gold plating. All exhaust systems can be had with actively-controlled valves, so the driver can adjust the sound level. This mod, the flow-optimized custom turbo inlets, and other work has made the Italian stallion punchier.

The model enjoys an extra 37 horsepower (38 ps/28 kW), and it has a total of 856 horsepower (868 ps/638 kW) available at a hard push of the right pedal. The stock Ferrari 296 GTS has a total output of 818 hp (830 ps/610 kW) produced by its electrified 3.0L twin-turbo V6, takes 2.9s from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph), 7.6s to 124 mph (200 kph), and tops out at over 205 mph (330 kph).

The 0-62 mph acceleration is identical to the one of its fixed-roof sibling, and the 296 GTS is three-tenths slower to 124 mph. The top speed is also the same. Novitec has refrained from releasing the performance numbers of its latest project, but the supercar has likely become at least one-tenth of a second faster.
