Tesla specialist Unplugged Performance has recently unleashed the first-ever Cybertruck police vehicle. Modified by the company's UP.FIT division for police duty, this fellow is said to have "garnered substantial interest from agencies across the country to enhance their patrol capabilities."
Unplugged Performance did not say how many or which law enforcement agencies expressed interest in this rather imposing truck. The UP.FIT division can also modify the Cybertruck for military and tactical response duties. Fire department-specific mods are available as well.

Officially dubbed UP.FIT Tesla Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol, this all-wheel-drive leviathan, is rocking the mandatory light bar and spotlights one would expect from a police vehicle, sirens, a PA system, upgraded radio and computer systems, and UP.FIT decals on the doors and tailgate. The pictured vehicle does lack a few things, though, beginning with a mobile data terminal.

Exterior antennas aren't visible either, and there's no separator between the front and rear seats. A push bar would be welcome as well. UP.FIT does mention an available prisoner partition, as well as a K9 enclosure, storage for weapons or specialty tools, upgraded braking systems, and extreme off-roading upgrades.

Forged wheel and tire packages are obviously available, plus internet connectivity via Starlink. The folks at Unplugged Performance haven't mentioned anything about pricing, although we do know that first deliveries are due in late 2024 and that an UP.FIT Tesla Model Y patrol vehicle is around $90,000.

The upfitted Model Y is listed on the company's website with an EPA-rated driving range of 310 miles (499 kilometers), meaning that the donor vehicle is the Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive. Excluding taxes, potential savings, and optional extras, the crossover presently retails at $47,990. It should be noted that the EPA has recently revised the Long Range All-Wheel Drive's estimated range at 308 miles (496 kilometers).

As far as the Cybertruck is concerned, there's no EPA rating whatsoever because Cybertruck features a gross vehicle weight rating of 8,500-plus pounds, meaning 3,856-plus kilograms. This puts the aesthetically challenged zero-emission pickup in the same category as the Ford F-Series Super Duty F-250 and the Chevrolet Silverado 2500, which aren't tested by the EPA for gas mileage.

That's why Tesla lists the Cybertruck with its very own driving range estimates, beginning with 250 miles (402 kilometers) for the rear-wheel-drive specification. The entry-level Cybertruck is currently available to order at $60,990, meaning that an upfitted rear-drive Cybertruck will set you back over a hundred grand.

The quicker and more capable all-wheel-drive specification can be summed up as follows: $79,990 from the outset, 340 miles (547 kilometers), 4.1 seconds to 60 mph (97 kph) instead of 6.5 seconds with rear-wheel drive, and a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds (4,990 kilograms). The three-motor Cyberbeast is $99,990 and tows just as much as the dual-motor version of the Cybertruck.
