As we reported yesterday, Texas is once again the capital of drag racing these days, with the TX2K14 “gathering horsepower-aholics” welcoming many, many cars with mind-blowing outputs. 2014 marks the 15th anniversary of the event and we’re back to show you some extra action.
We’ll start with the fastest car at the rolling drag races held on the Texas World Speedway. Unfortunately for the GT-R drivers, the title went to a Gallardo. Playing in the unlimited class, this twin-turbo Gallardo managed to hit 201 mph (323.6 km/h). The Lambo was racing another Gallardo at the time, with both making stunningly quick passes.
We’ll remind you that after the first day of races, the guys too it to the streets, racing throughout the night. This, of course, happened again, with the second video below showing the runs of Wednesday night.
The uploader of the footage, BadBowtieProductions, calls this “The Superbowl of Street Racing” - truth be told, there was some pretty hot metal involved. We will only tell you this much - the camera car is a CTS-V with a list of mods that includes a supercharger pulley upgrade, new cams, as well as a 75 Nitrous shot. You’d better hold on to your seat.
