Bugatti recently bid farewell to the Chiron by unveiling the 500th copy. In all likelihood, the Molsheim hypercar maker won't introduce another 'last' example to store in a museum or for a deep-pocketed collector, so chances are this is indeed the end of the line for the iconic model.
Ever since it was unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the Bugatti Chiron has made headlines, and it continues to do so to this day, more than eight years after its unveiling. Car journos and petrolheads alike are still mesmerized by it, and whether it is a calm drive or a drag race, this machine will keep ending up in our stories for many years to come.

Case in point, the Bugatti Chiron was recently the subject of a good-old straight-line battle with something that it would normally annihilate: the Lamborghini Huracan. You see, the Italian supercar may be quick enough to compete with similar rides, but it is in an inferior league to the mighty hypercar from the Molsheim brand.

The reason is the motor, a 5.2L naturally aspirated V10, which came in various outputs over the years, producing well over 600 horsepower, depending on the supercar's configuration. Thus, it's no rival to the Chiron, no matter how skilled the person holding the wheel is, as the Bugatti is far more powerful and costs around ten times more.

In this case, you are looking at the Chiron Super Sport. Thus, it boasts 99 hp (100 ps/74 kW) more than the regular Chiron, with no fewer than 1,577 horses (1,600 ps/1,177 kW) unleashed every time the driver abuses the loud pedal. And loud it is, as power comes from a massive 8.0-liter motor with a W16 arrangement and no fewer than four turbochargers.

Now, you can see where this is going, can't you? However, it is certainly worth noting that the Lamborghini Huracan shown in the video at the bottom of the page has embraced its twin-turbocharging side. The impressive work that went into its V10 engine has secured it around 1,800 horsepower. However, in this case, it produces 'only' 1,600 horses.

This means its output is identical to that of the Chiron Super Sport, so it might have grabbed the upper hand in a straight-line battle against it. But these rides weren't the only ones subjected to a drag race (actually, it's more than one) by CarWow's Indonesia arm (rest assured, Mat Watson drove one of these cars), as joining them was a race-prepped MINI that had something important to say.

Now, this is the part of the story where we invite you to scroll down and watch the video. The footage is 14 minutes long, so if you were looking for a sign to take a break, then this is it.
