We have to admit that American go-fast cars are still to European consumers. Wide, thirsty and too over the top for the morning when you don’t want to stand out, they are not yet capable of making people jump out of their M3. But, a new piece of information is making everyone take notice today.
Jason Laird posted a tweet today saying: "Mark Reuss just confirmed ZL1 Camaro lapped Nurburgring in 7.41.27". So who is this fellow and why should be take notice. Well, he’s the Executive Director - Product and Technology Communications at General Motors so when the automaker is done covering pickups and sedans, a full announcement is likely to come.
So why should we care? Well, this makes it about as fast as stuff like the 911 GT3, the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. It’s also faster than a V10-powered Audi R8 or the 2006 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, which has a big V12.
