The Cadillac Escalade-V is the perfect ride for those who want a fun car, but they have three kids, a dog, and an entire wardrobe to squeeze into the trunk when going on holiday and can't fit them all in a Corvette. A tuning house came up with a Stage 1 package for the SUV. But the presentation was interrupted by a surprise appearance.
Cadillac rolls out a monster in the shape of a full-size SUV. Currently in its fifth generation, the Cadillac Escalade-V is powered by a 6.2-liter direct-injection V8, which pumps out 682 horsepower (692 metric horsepower) and 653 pound-feet (885 Newton meters) of torque.

With those figures on tap, the Cadillac Escalade-V flashes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, does the quarter mile in 12.7 seconds at 111 mph and hits a top speed of 125 mph (201 kph).

However, there are people out there who may think that all those impressive figures that the vehicle drives through the gate of the factory are far from enough. For those, Late Model Racecraft brings a Stage 1 package.

The owner said he wanted more and called on the tuning house for the job. For starters, the experts installed a cold air induction system under the hood, bringing along a 15-horsepower gain.

But that was a few months ago. And still, it wasn't enough. So back to the tuning shop he went. This time, the specialists integrated an upper supercharger pulley. The supercharger was ported by Kong Performance for maximum airflow.

However, they decided to keep the stock manifold and stock mufflers. So, the SUV still sounds like the stock version. While the co-owner of Late Model Racecraft, Steven Feredeay, explains the Stage 1 package for the Escalade-V, a surprise appearance interrupts his speech.

It is a monkey and her baby, the last thing you'd expect to see walking as if she didn't have a care in the world toward a tuning shop in Houston, Texas. The animal eventually walks away, carrying her baby as if she didn't like the merchandise much.

It must be a sign that the Cadillac Escalade-V is not monkeying around. Steven remains composed as if he has seen monkeys walking around on a daily basis.

The team has not interfered with the transmission just yet. So the GM Hydra-Matic 10-Speed automatic gearbox still operates as it did when it rolled off the production line, in an all-wheel drive setup. But they will have to do it to make it firmer and quicker if the owner decides he wants more than he already has on tap.

On the first drive, the upgraded V runs from 0 to 60 in 4.47 seconds and covers the quarter mile in 12.58 seconds.
