With the F80 incarnation of the BMW M3 now approaching the end of its lifetime, more and more examples get put though their paces. And plenty of such adventures include drag races. In fact, this is why we're here, namely to showcase a sprinting brawl between the outgoing BMW M3 and a Nissan GT-R.
Of course, a stock M3 doesn't stand a change against Godzilla, but both of these toys have been taken down the aftermarket path.
For instance, the twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight-six of the Bavarian machine comes with an E85 setup, along with goodies such as the intake, exhaust and the intercooler.
While the owner of the super-sedan hasn't mentioned the output, the quarter-mile time of the machine means it packs at least 700 horses - the German tool can play the 1/4-mile game in 10.7 seconds, with a trap speed of 129 mph.
As for the Nissan GT-R, this also comes with an E85 setup, while delivering the same kind of output as the M3.
Fortunately, the aficionados behind the wheel took the fight to the drag strip, thus staying on the safe side. Nevertheless, the battle didn't use the basic standing start, going for a rolling takeoff. Of course, this modus operandi means the M3 got a fair chance against the AWD supercar.
The sprinting fight took place at the Palm Beach International Raceway. And this isn't the only race included in the clip below, as the BMW M3 took on plenty of opponents - the list of adversaries includes pair of Mercedes-AMGs, a Dodge Charger, as well as a C7 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
The said 1,320 feet adventures bring a mix of stock and modded vehicles, while these challenge involve both standing and rolling starts. And you can use this shenanigan as an example: please leave the street behind and head for the track when the hooning urges kick in.
