Brace yourselves! The plucky Americans from Trion Supercars (TSC) boast that their future hypercar will get a twin-turbo V8 which will deliver no less than 2,000 horsepower. Should Bugatti and Koenigsegg fear the newcomer?
The young American firm claims that its future model will have a so-called "Predator Mode". Engage it and the car re-tunes itself, adjusting ride height, suspension settings, exhaust sound, rev limits and interior illumination, things a normal "Sport" button can also do. A recent press release says that "the exterior lines are flawless from the front growl to the captivating tail configuration". We know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but we also know that somebody needs to get an eye exam rather quickly.
Its 2,000 horsepower twin-turbo V8 is said to propel the car from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds, slower than a factory 2014 Nissan GT-R. It also promises a top end of more than 270 mph due to its aerodynamic shape, lightweight carbon fiber body and chassis "with Inconel elements".
According to the design team, the Trion's interior packaging will comfortably accomodate even 6'4'' drivers, while the car settings, active aerodynamics and infotainment system can be controlled via multiple touchscreens. Just to make things worse, Trion declared that the Nemesis trunk was specifically developed to accommodate golf clubs or luggage so owners do not have to car swap for different functions. Why would you carry a set of golf clubs in a car capable of 270 mph?
Anyhow, the American-based startup says that this project is in its earliest stages of development, but the first prototypes should be ready in just a month's time. The thing is - in a world of Bugatti Veyrons, Koenigsegg One:1s and Pagani Huayras, is there a place for such a car? Unfortunately, the Trion Nemesis is still just a small company's wet dream at this stage, and the chances to actually make a vehicle capable of those astronomical features are virtually zero.
