Trae Young is definitely not one to try to keep a low profile. And since the Tesla Cybertruck has become the must-have vehicle among celebrities, he just had to have one. The Atalanta Hawks guard bought one and wrapped it in a cold shade of blue to match his nickname “Ice Trae." Hopefully, his teammates won't fill this one with popcorn like they did with his Audi R8.
Even though the Atlanta Hawks got us all thinking that Trae Young would be on the move, it seems that he is there to stay, and only Murray was to leave for the New Orleans Pelicans. With that out of the way, Young blocks all the noise around him and finds something else to focus on. Like his new ride, for instance.

Trae Young uploaded photos of this brand-new Tesla Cybertruck to social media and captioned them: "Sometimes you gotta pop up." He also added a heart emoji and a snowflake, a hint at his nickname, "Ice Trae."

However, some of his 5.1 million followers on Instagram hated his new purchase, called it "ugly," and asked him why he bought it in the first place. With a five-year $215,159,700 contract with the Atlanta Hawks and an annual salary of  $43,031,940, plus endorsements and sponsorships, he can surely afford anything out there. So, the Cybertruck's price is pocket change for the NBA star.

The Tesla-branded Cybertruck is just one of the many cars in his multi-million dollar collection. There is no information on the version that Trae chose, but our guess is that he went for the tri-motor Cyberbeast with 845 horsepower and a run from 0 to 60 mph in supercar-type-of-time: 2.6 seconds.

Young's first sports car was an Audi R8 V10 with a very nice spec: it's a car in matte black over a black leather interior and contrasting blue stitching (it's that blue again!), riding on black wheels. Back then, he surprised his Atlanta Hawks teammates with the purchase. He got a $160,000 car when he could afford a Bugatti.

The then-rookie Trae had the surprise of his life when he returned to the parking lot only to find his Audi R8 filled with popcorn. That translates to a lot of movies to watch.

The Hawks guard did clean it up eventually and later, he bought a McLaren 720 S and a Lamborghini Aventador. It was just the beginning of an impressive car collection for the player.

Only time will tell if Trae Young will be heading somewhere else or will be spending the season in Atlanta with the Hawks. One thing is for sure: he won't be able to keep a low profile in his blue-wrapped Tesla Cybertruck, which perfectly suits his three-time All-Star's NBA persona. That is a title that he achieved in 2020, 2022, and 20234.
