Same cars, different drivers - one-make race series are all about driving techniques and experience, eliminating the vehicle’s performance factor out of the equation and intensifying the battle between the drivers.
And the Toyota GT 86 will get to have its own series in New Zealand, starting November this year, as we learn from the newly released video bellow.
The one-make racing series will use a modified Toyota GT 86, locally developed and named the TR 86. It will have a stripped down interior, which will leave only the dashboard and the controls, throwing out every single bit of trimming panels or interior lining. It will have a roll cage, extinguisher and a racing seat. Performance equipment will include racing tires and brakes, adjustable suspension as well as a MoTeC racing instrument panel.
