The vehicle number in Europe has tripled over the last 30 years, but thanks to technology, roads are far safer now.
However, the safety part of the automotive industry is still under development and Toyota racedriver Alex Wurz says there is still much that can be done to make it even better, especially regarding young drivers between 15-23, who are the most vulnerable category of road users.
In Alex’s opinion, safety depends on the three Es - Engineering, Enforcement and Education. And while the engineering part is handled by the automakers, making advanced safety features, it’s up to us to enforce and educate young drivers on how to use them and be road-responsible.
