Toyota officially announced that the Prius+ seven-seater MPV version of their popular hybrid model will arrive in the UK marketplace on July 9th. There will be two equipment grades available, with pricing starting at £26,195 for the base T4.
The Prius+ is based on the regular five-door model but adds extra seats and a bigger boot. The biggest change takes place behind the C-pillar, where the car shows an extra 155 mm (6 inches)of length.The hybrid MPV is also wider by 30mm (1.2 inches) and taller as well. In addition, the wheelbase has been extended by 80 mm (3.2 inches) to make more room inside for the extra two seats.
So what about the economy figures? Well, the UK market model Prius+ in T4 is supposed to do 68.9 mpg UK (4.1 L/100km), while only emitting 96 g/km of CO2. The better equipped T Spirit only does 64.2 mpg UK (4.4 L/100km) while emitting 100 g/km of CO2.
Speaking of equipment, the standard trim on this car includes 16-inch alloy wheels, rear view camera, a head-up display, LED daytime running lights, automatic air-conditioning and an audio system.
