If you miss the MR2 or Celica models, word is that Toyota started sketching a new sportscar to be placed under the current GT 86 model.
Toyota's theory about its sportscars lineup includes three models – one its already on the market and the other two being on the drawing board.
“Akio Toyoda always says to me, Toyota sports car [family] should be three sports car brothers. 86 is in the middle.” said Toyota's sportscar division chief Tatsuya Tada.
It's not clearly what name the entry-level sportscar will bear, but we know it will definitely have a rear-wheel-drive setup. Mr. Tada also hinted that the car might be built with another car company, following the tradition of the Toyota-Subaru joint developed GT 86 or the Supra sibling currently developed with BMW.
