The system needs to be connected to a smartphone that has internet access in order to work, so for many people, it seemed kind of useless. Why would you want to complicate things, wire and route informations from your smartphone to the vehicle’s display since you can access the same info directly from the phone?
Moreover, the Entune system had to be paid for after three years of free service, making it totally pointless.
So, Toyota figured out the wrongness and announced that the Entune App Suite will be offered free of charge from now on.
