Toyota has been a very troubled automaker in the past couple of years. Their position at the top of the automotive world has been crippled by the massive recalls and the fact that their widespread product offering just couldn’t keep up with strong competition from other automakers.
What’s more Lexus has been dethroned as the top luxury automaker in America for the first time in ten years, and the Japanese earthquake severely damaged their capacity to keep up with demand.

So when can we expect them to recover and start showing the green leafs of growth? According to USA Today, as early as next month, as that’s when the automaker sees a return to year-on-year retail sales increases.

"You'll start seeing us show year-over-year retail increases starting in October,"
Toyota U.S. group Vice President Bob Carter said Friday.

Last time the Big T saw sales increase was in April, after which the earthquake put a spanner in the works. Last week, the automaker reported that all its North American facilities will return to full capacity and that they’re adding an extra shift to make up for lost time.
