Toyota Motor Engineering & manufacturing North America is recalling over 9,000 sedans suspected of dodgy windshield wipers.
The recall addresses to certain model year 2013-2014 Camry and Camry HV, model year 2013 Avalon and Avalon HV as well as model year 2014 Corolla vehicles.
The potential 9,795 affected vehicles, the windshield wiper switch assembly may short circuit rendering the cars incompatible with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard, No. 104, “Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems.” In short terms, the wipers may not work and you’ll not be able to see if its raining or snowing.
Toyota will notify owners via first class mail asking them to return their vehicles to the nearest dealership, where the wiper switch assembly will be replaced free of charge. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 for more info.
