The Toyota 86’s most valuable asset is its chassis and in the real world, this translates into great handling abilities. Of course, since we’re talking about a car coming from Japan, its creators knew that many drivers won’t want to drive without the rear wheels spinning nicely and thus the coupe is a good car for drifting (this has been previously demonstrated).
However, drifting is an activity that requires both skill and concentration and can be dangerous. So, what happens if you get it wrong while you’re letting the back step out?
One answer to this question comes in the adjacent video, which shows us a Toyota 86 being drifted in a wet parking lot in Odaiba, Japan. In fact, there were two units of the car that were drifted on March 9, but we’re going to pay attention to the red one, as this one crashed.
The drivers seemed to have lost his sense of direction due to all that spinning and was unable to steer the car away from on the the metal barriers of the parking lot. Fortunately, this was not secured too well in its place and the speed of the car was not to great, so the accident didn’t do too much damage.
