It's easy to wrap your mind around the idea that what you're looking at is on a whole different level; you just listen to your feelings. That said, when I first saw the Renegade Classic, I knew I was looking at a different kind of beast.
Folks, before us, sits none other than the one machine that put Renegade RV on the map: it's their flagship model and filled with the very best this team has to offer. That said, I've decided to shed some light on it as there's a whole lot to talk about. Oh, and don't go thinking you won't find the right unit for you; 16 floorplans are available to choose from. Some fit as few as six guests, others as many as eight or more.

Now, there are two ways you can get to know the Classic: the first is to continue reading this text, and the second is to simply watch the video below. Personally, I recommend doing both, and in no particular order; there's plenty to talk about, and pictures and videos are worth hundreds of thousands of words.

Since there is so much to talk about, I've decided to help you get a feel for the Classic by inviting you to live out of it for the next few minutes or so. That said, grab up to eight family members, depending on the floorplan, all your outdoor and on-road living gear, and even a few vehicles like dirt bikes and even ATVs. Some layouts, like the 2609 and 2509, include rear toy or vehicle garages.

This is all made possible by the way Renegade crafts the Classic. Depending on your budget and needs, the manufacturer offers chassis options such as a Freightliner, Volvo, Western Star, and even Peterbilt, each with its own array of transmissions and engines to choose from: total customization is the name of the game.

Oh, and at this level in the game, vehicles are completely packed with goodies like air suspension, rear and side cameras, countless safety features, and the need for a different kind of license. Yes, you will need a CDL for this one.

For the remainder of this show, picture yourself pulling into some trailer park or, because Renegade packs this puppy to the limit with off-grid features, go for a bit of boondocking. Once you nestle yourself onto flat ground, stretch those legs, take in the sights and sounds, and then it's onto stage two of this short adventure: preparing for your campsite.

Since you already know about the garage, a couple of family members will have to unload that ATV, kayaks, e-bikes, fishing gear, and outdoor campground equipment you brought along. Other members of the family will be unloading goodies from the lockers lining the exterior of the Classic, and once everything is nice and ready, it's your turn.

At the press of a button, the Classic reveals some of its magic in the form of slide-outs integrated into the composite shell. The number and placement of these numerous features depend on the layout you have in mind, so be sure to explore your options.

The two options I've mentioned here today each include three sliding sections: two near the rear, before the garage, and along the port side of the unit behind the cab. The former houses the bedrooms, and the latter some of the living room accommodations.

With the interior in full bloom and the exterior coming along - just extend the awning and pitch some tents and dining sets - you're ready to settle in for the rest of your trip, and this is where the Classic's off-grid abilities come in.

Since the Classic is designed for four-season living, Renegade took the time to load this puppy up with all the goodies you may need. This includes 150 gals (568 liters) of fresh water, an 8 kW or 12.5 kW Onan generator, 3,000 W inverter, 660 Ah of battery power, and, optionally, up to 600 W of solar panels. All that can be expanded further, of course, including more batteries. That'll do it if you ask me.

Other than that, our vacations or downright lifestyle will be elevated with features like porcelain sinks and toilets, washers and dryers, more TVs than there are rooms, sound bars...and the list goes on. All that sounds like a downright home, which brings me to my next and final point: this unit's price tag.

All that magic isn't cheap, and while exploring this lineup, I found 2024 Renegade Classics selling between $675K and $750K and beyond; particular features play an important role in the numbers dealerships have in store for us.

That means that you can't just go out and grab one of these babies without consulting the family first. After all, this is probably the last thing you want to trigger a divorce.
