TomTom today released its iPhone 1.9 App, also optimizing it for the iPad, with current TomTom App customers being offered the possibility to download it free of charge. The iPad version comes with a higher resolution and a user interface that allows it to fit the larger screen, as well as being compatible with Apple’s iOS5 operating system.
"This new release - now officially called 'TomTom App for iPhone/iPad' - is a logical next step for us," says Corinne Vigreux, Managing Director Consumer at TomTom. "Our customers asked us for iPad features, and now they have them. We have enhanced everything the iPad user sees and interacts with on the touch-screen."
The TomTom App for iPhone/iPad 1.9 also includes a new map, which brings updated roads, more accurate info on speed camera locations and points of interest.
