Toyota is using the Tokyo Auto Show to introduce the Aqua, the Japanese Domestic Market version of the new Prius C. Basically, we now have Toyota’s Hybrid Sinergy Drive in hatchback form. The car is powered by a 1.5 liter DOHC four-cylinder unit that has joined forces with an electric motor.
The vehicle uses the same kind of aerodynamic features found in the Prius and promises to be perfectly suited for city driving in this new shape, while also being able to cater to five persons’ transportation needs.
The Toyota Aqua, which aims to bring a fresh image to the Prius family, is scheduled to make its debut on the Japanese market in late December, with the car subsequently set to travel to other markets.
