A website who claims to be “the biggest and funniest police-orientated Facebook Page in UK” has recently posted a picture that will definitely make you smile. It turns out the people wrapping the cars for the South Yorkshire Police were in quite a big hurry when they did this particular one.
“Shelf” that is what “polce” stands for in Polish, according to Google Translate anyway. But this was not the meaning of the error who made this particular car belonging to the South Yorkshire Police force quite special. The picture was uploaded on the website with a funny quote and soon afterwards the spelling error was rectified.

The spelling error was identified immediately by staff who took delivery of a new batch of police vehicles, which came already completed with livery from the manufacturer. The error was rectified the following day and the vehicle never left police premises, This was the only error in the batch delivered,” a police spokesperson confirmed.

Since we’re talking about police cars in the UK, let us take a closer look at their fleet. The 51 police forces use a wide range of operational vehicles from hatchbacks to armored Jankel trucks and Land Rovers. As to what models they use, in most cases the everyday response cars in England are commonly low-budget cars.

The Vauxhall Astra and Ford Focus have both been used as response cars. Some police forces also use “area cars” to patrol larger cities and deal with more urgent calls and pursuits. For that they most commonly use Skoda Octavia and the Ford Mondeo.
