It looks like tiny homes aren't going out of style anytime soon, and there's no shortage of clever designs adapted to a wide variety of needs and lifestyles. Sunshine Tiny Houses is one of the youngest Australian companies in the industry, but with a remarkable portfolio. People dreaming of eco-friendly, alternative housing can choose one of the brand's pre-fab pod models or one of the modern tiny house designs, ranging in size from six to ten meters (19.6 – 32.8 feet).
Lennox is one of the most spacious Sunshine Tiny Houses designs, boasting a contemporary layout that can meet the needs of a modern family. Lennox can be nine or ten meters long (29.5 – 32.8 feet) and 2.5 meters wide (8.2 feet), making it this builder's largest model. Considering that the drawbar is somewhere between 1.6 and 1.7 meters long, this is the maximum length that would allow the completed tiny house to stay under 4.5 tonnes (4.9 tons). Any tiny house longer or wider than that could not be legally towed on the road, based on the local transport regulations.

The team at Sunshine Tiny Houses has used this space wisely to create a layout that maximizes functionality while remaining modern and comfortable for daily living. Taking advantage of the home's height (the maximum one allowed) meant adding a generous loft bedroom to the open-concept ground-floor level that includes its own separate bedroom. This way, the Lennox Tiny offers the benefits of both worlds: a traditional main bedroom and a versatile loft room.

Oftentimes, customers have to choose between tiny home designs with one or two lofts and extra-length versions that can accommodate ground-level separate bedrooms. With Lennox, there's no need to choose, which makes it a very flexible design. This also means comfortable accommodation for at least four people without taking into account the spacious lounge that could also turn into an extra bedroom with a convertible sofa. With this versatile configuration, Lennox is well-suited for families and for welcoming larger groups of guests as a rental unit.

The main bedroom was designed like a self-contained peaceful oasis within the home. It's not only separated from the rest of the house via a discrete sliding door, but it also features ample glass doors that connect it straight to the outdoors. This type of bedroom with a private entrance is perfect for Airbnbs, but it's also a luxurious feature for those who want a closer connection to nature from the comfort of their own home.

Size-wise, this bedroom is big enough to include a full-size wardrobe, which is a must-have for long-term accommodation. The cozy bed comes with generous walk-around space and gorgeous views thanks to the strategic placement of large windows on one side and the glass doors on the other side. The loft bedroom also ensures a certain level of privacy because it's not completely open; a full-height protection wall adds privacy without becoming overwhelming – Lennox is the type of spacious, tall tiny home where a partially closed loft bedroom works.

Using a ladder instead of a built-in staircase to access the loft is an important space-saving solution. It allows for a much bigger and more comfortable kitchen with an ingenious dining section. We know that all Aussie tiny homes must include a breakfast bar, but this one has a rather unusual placement between the kitchen and the lounge, perpendicularly.

It's another great way to free up precious floor space for the kitchen and lounge without sacrificing functionality. You still get the convenience of a breakfast bar for two but in a different version. It even makes Lennox look more modern and stylish, like a trendy vacation resort for glamping.

Having a spacious lounge with a full-size sofa and ample floor space for additional furniture is one of the great advantages of a longer tiny home. Huge windows on both sides create the illusion of an indoor/outdoor relaxation area immersed in nature, which is another modern, trendy aspect of this clever layout. Plus, it brings the versatility of a wide wooden bar that can serve multiple purposes, including a home office.

Big bathrooms with ample storage are one of this Aussie builder's trademarks. This two-bedroom design features an elegant bathroom/laundry with enough space for the basics and multiple storage solutions. It's also more luminous and airy than the typical tiny house bathrooms, which makes it seem even more luxurious. As for the toilet, future owners can choose between a conventional one and several eco-friendly alternatives. Composting toilets usually go hand in hand with a complete off-grid setup for those who want a truly sustainable lifestyle, especially in the long run.

The turnkey version of the Lennox tiny home starts at AUD 145,000 ($96,670) and customers can choose to further ramp up its level of luxury with additions such as skylights, feature walls, LED strips, and home automation systems. A decent-size exterior deck is another excellent addition, especially for Airbnbs. With or without one, the Lennox offers a balanced mix of high-level comfort and functionality at contemporary standards.
