Fallen into oblivion. Hidden in the barn away from the sunlight. Covered in a thick layer of dust. Yes, that is what happens to cars from the 1960s or any long-gone era most of the time. But not to this superb, restomodded 1969 Chevrolet Camaro.
This muscle car looks as if it never knew oblivion, storage, or dust. It looks shiny and new, better than it did the day it rolled off the production line 55 years ago. So you are looking at a car that is over half a century old but still looks brand-new. Blame restomod experts for it.

Besides brand new, it also looks intimidating. It is a car that makes you move out of the way once you see it devouring the gap that separates it from whatever you are driving on the highway. It is a black-on-black car, riding on silver wheels that match the impeccable chrome trim. The cabin looks as if it has been submerged in black ink. Seats in pitch black leather and Alcantara sport contrasting red stitching.

The good old Camaro is now called RS/SS LSX Pro-Touring Restomod. And it kept none of the factory components. The car has only 800 miles on the clock since it has been rebuilt.

What powers the 1969 Chevy Camaro that Grandpa wished he had in his youth is a 6.0-liter LSX engine with a mild stage 2 camshaft, mated to a solid 4L80E transmission and assisted by a Hellcat 525 fuel pump and upgraded fuel lines.

It sports billet hood hinges and support bars, complete with a Burgeon quick-quick ratio steering box that gives the driver a helping hand when it comes to handling. To keep the temperature under control under the hood is a three-core radiator with a 16-inch Seal fan.

To match that oomph, the Camaro got Anvil carbon fiber bumpers front and rear. It rides on US Mags wheels measuring 18 x 8 inches at the front and 18 x 9 inches at the rear, wrapped in Atlas Force tires of 225/45/18 front and 255/45R/18 rear. Wildwood disc brakes at all four corners provide a matching stopping power. The car received a Detroit Speed electric headlight conversion for a modern twist to the classic appearance.

The Camaro also got a brand-new cabin. A TMI pad covers the dashboard, sitting in the company of Dakota Digital gauges, while the center console of a sixth-generation Camaro found room on board, replacing the original from 55 years ago. The model has been fitted with a Vintage Air system.

And it's not just good looks, extra oomph, and modern features that the Camaro can brag about. The underbody components have been enhanced and reinforced for upgraded performance and handling.

A 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears showed up, as well as tubular control arms and subframe connectors. Thicker front and rear sway bars have been installed.

The model, which is currently undergoing inspection, servicing, and detailing for the next four to six wheels, is for sale as-is. The selling dealer warns those interested in buying it that it is an old car that may come with imperfections.

However, if the customer wants some updates, upgrades, or modes, they can have them. For instance, paint correction and ceramic coating are available for $1,999. They can also purchase satin bronze custom wheels for as much as $3,000. Before any upgrades, the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS LSX Pro-Touring Restomod is a $129,999 affair.
