A Lamborghini Veneno Roadster has just sold for $6 million at an online auction. The super-rare supercar has just become the world's most expensive car to be sold on the internet.
Unveiled right on time to mark Lamborghini's 50th anniversary and looking like a racing prototype for the rod, the Veneno Roadster wowed supercar enthusiasts in 2019. The brand only built nine such roasters. The one sold for a record price wears a Nero (black) paintwork with the front splitter, side skirts, and diffuser in Verde (green), matching a cabin in Verde leather upholstery.

The car which once belonged to a Saudi Arabian royal family member, rolled off the production line in 2015. The model was sold on Supercar Blondie's recently launched auction site. The new owner paid $6 million to get the supercar powered by the 6.5-liter V12 engine that also puts the Aventador in motion.

It pumps out 740 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed automated manual transmission helps the engine put the power down through all four wheels for an acceleration from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 97 kph) in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph.

At the moment of the listing, the car only had 1,105 miles on the clock (1,778 kilometers), which pretty much makes it a garage queen. This translates to an average of only 122.7 miles (197.4 kilometers) per year. Heartbreaking, isn't it?

The owner has been trying to sell it for quite some time. There is no information on how much the original price was the moment it rolled off the production line as the second Veneno Roadster of the nine ever made, at the factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese in northern Italy. One thing is for sure. Its value skyrocketed over the years, plunged, and rose again.

Back in 2023, the owner tried to sell it via VIP Motors for a jaw-dropping $9.52 million. The price turned out to be "a bit" too much, though. One year later, it showed up online again, this time with SBX, $3.52 million less, after sitting for two years in dealerships in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

The hammer dropped at $6 million. It sounds like a price that matches the reputation and exclusivity of the Veneno. When Lamborghini introduced the model, they did it in grand fashion, transporting it atop an Italian naval aircraft carrier Cavour.

The Veneno sold in Dubai is more expensive than the second most expensive of the cars sold online. In 2022, a 2017 LaFerrari Apart went for $5.36 million also through SBX.

SBX is the relatively new dealership belonging to Supercar Blondie, Alexandra Hirchi on her real name. Hopefully, it won't spend the rest of its life in a garage of been trailer-queened around, shown off, and returned to its parking spot. SBX does not disclose any information about its new owner or its destination.
