It's hard to find something to hate on a first-gen Mustang, especially if you're a diehard fanboy, but the model you're about to discover is something else.
I always liked the early Mustangs, albeit I still believe that the first model years deserved more potent engines. The top choice on the 1964-1966 ponies was the 289 HiPo, which developed over 270 horsepower, with Ford eventually understanding that American buyers needed more performance on the Mustang.

The carmaker slowly improved the offering in the next model years, with a 390 joining the lineup in 1967 with 320 horsepower. The 428 Cobra Jet landed in the Mustang lineup in 1968 with 335 horsepower.

The Mustang in these photos left the factor with a 289 under the hood, but it's still a fantastic car like a few others.

The first thing any buyer must know is that this Mustang spent its entire life with the same owner. It was purchased by the people you see in the pics in 1966 and was parked in their garage during all these years. It has never been restored, altered, or modified in any way, so it's as original as on day one.

Furthermore, this Mustang has never received any bondo or other repairs. It's completely rust-free, and this proves that the owner meticulously cared for the car. It's not a perfect 10, as it still requires a few occasional fixes, but this makes sense, considering it's an all-original survivor/time capsule.

The odometer indicates 72,000 miles, and they are all original. The owner says they have full documentation for every mile. Everything works on this Mustang, including the lights and the gauges. The glass is in perfect shape, with no chips and cracks, despite being original to the vehicle.

The V8 engine under the hood starts, runs, and drives properly. eBay seller orlandotolv says the car can go anywhere on its wheel, and the transmission shifts correctly. It doesn't produce smoke or weird noises despite its age.

I've been covering classic cars for many years already, and this is one of the best original Mustangs I've seen in my life. It's a fantastic car whose place should be in a museum, so I don't expect it to remain available for long on eBay.

The bidding is already fierce despite the Mustang hitting the WWW a few hours ago. The car received 24 bids, with the top offer surpassing $10,000. The most important tidbit is that the car sells without a reserve, meaning whoever sends the top offer will take it home. The auction will end in six days, and if you want to see the pony in action, you can find it in Clermont, Florida, albeit you must hurry up, considering the impressive interest in this Mustang.
