This Camper Van Is a Stunning Cabin on Wheels With an Expertly Crafted, All-Wood Interior

With van life booming in popularity, there's no better time to buy or convert a camper van. Countless conversion companies have popped up, so there's a very high chance you'll find one in your surrounding area. If you're based around New Jersey, look at Jasper Vans.

Jasper Vans is a Bradley Beach, New Jersey-based company that specializes in "superbly comfortable and highly functional off-grid adventure vans catering to every lifestyle."

One of its latest creations is a Ram ProMaster 3500 converted into a fully livable, tiny home on wheels. If you're unfamiliar with the ProMaster chassis, you should know that the 3500 model can carry the highest payload. As usual, I'll start the van tour with the exterior. As soon as you lay eyes on this rig, you'll probably be able to tell someone is living inside. What gives its "camper DNA" away are an FVC (Flatline Van Co.) roof rack holding scene lights and two 220 W solar panels, one at the rear and one at the front, as well as a ladder on the driver's side of the vehicle.

This van came to Jasper Van already minimally converted. Specifically, the customer had already added the FVC roof rack, an under-mounted propane tank, and three windows: one on the sliding door, one on the opposite side, and two at the rear.

Pop the sliding door open, and you'll notice that a kitchen counter takes up part of the entrance. On the outer part, Jasper Vans installed a flip-down table perfect for enjoying a drink outside the van. This counter also integrates a slide-out Thetford toilet, allowing you to enjoy the surrounding views while doing your business.

Step inside, and you'll be greeted by a stunning interior reminiscent of a mountain cabin with wood all around. The customer opted for luxury vinyl plank flooring paired with tongue and groove pine for the walls and ceiling and Baltic birch for the cabinets.

For additional comfort and safety, Jasper Vans added a smoke detector, Thinsulate insulation to keep the living space warm or cool, as needed, as well as soundproof and fireproof insulation. Since we're on the topic of heating and cooling, you should know this van is equipped with a Webasto heater, a Dometic RTX 2000 A/C, and a Maxxair ceiling fan.

You'll see an open layout, meaning the driver's cabin isn't separated from the living space. Some notable features in the driver's cabin are a sizeable headliner shelf and a Wolfbox G900 digital rear-view camera.

The seating area is the first part of the interior past the driver's cabin. Jasper Vans installed tracks into the floor to fit a double bench seat - they can be covered by tiny planks for a more seamless look whenever you want to remove the bench seat. Moreover, you have a swivel table mount attached to the wall, and you can swivel the driver's and passenger chairs to seat a total of four people.

Next, we have the kitchen, which is split into two parts. The most aesthetically pleasing part of the kitchen is the live-edge countertops - the only disadvantage of adding these is their weight. However, you probably have nothing to worry about if you have a van with a high payload, like this Ram ProMaster 3500.

The kitchen also features a slide-out chest Dometic refrigerator, a small oven/two-burner stove combo, a Furrion tankless water heater housed in a cabinet, various storage spaces in the form of drawers and cabinets, and a massive stainless steel sink with a greywater tank in the cabinet underneath it.

Jasper Vans fitted two control panels for the rig's systems on the kitchen walls. The one on the driver's side wall comprises various light switches, an inverter controller, a carbon monoxide detector, a Webasto heater controller, a Victron Digital Multi-Control for the power system, five 12 V USB plugs, and an outlet.

The other one consists of two dimmable light switches, a switch for the greywater tank's ball valve, a water pump switch, a Furrion heater controller, and four USB plugs.

Finally, the lounge/bedroom area occupies the rear part of the interior. In the day setup, you'll notice two large benches with a telescoping table in between them. Other notable details include four spacious overhead cabinets, two on each side, two slide-screen windows, and custom 6-inch (15-centimeter) memory foam cushions.

When you want to lie down or go to sleep, you can quickly create a 68 x 68-inch (172 x 172-centimeter) bed by lowering the table, mounting the swivel table from up front, and attaching a filler board housed stored underneath one of the benches.

So, this camper van has an efficient, well-thought-out living space. However, a proper rig needs a capable power system. In this van's case, a Victron electrical system is hidden underneath the driver's side bench.

Its highlights are a Victron MultiPlus inverter/charger, a DC-DC charger that allows the system to charge while driving via the vehicle's alternator, a solar charge controller, and two 250 Ah batteries. This setup offers more than enough energy to enjoy worry-free off-grid adventures.

On the opposite side, the bench holds the plumbing system. You'll discover a 30-gallon (113-liter) freshwater tank and a water pump, both connected to an outdoor shower.

All in all, Jasper Vans kept both practicality and aesthetics in mind when creating this camper van. It not only feels warm and inviting due to the stunning woodworking, but also comes with creature comforts that make it a proper tiny home on wheels.

How about the price? Well, that depends on what you want exactly. Jasper Vans shared that its build-outs typically range between $55,000 and $95,000 (€50,539 and €87,295). Moreover, the company usually works with the Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, and Ram ProMaster platforms, although it's open to tackling other types of van models.

The company's process is designed to be as simple as possible. You talk to the Jasper Vans design team, order the van with some help from the builders, and pay a 10% initial deposit and an additional 50% two weeks before the rig is set to finish.
