People of the world, we’re begging you: never-ever speed again, so that we don’t have to deal with an anti-going fast ad as terrible as the one below! While you make up your mind on that, be prepared to see just how much of a failure the Norther Ireland authorities have prepared for us.
In a similar fashion to other creations of its kind, the ad involves a... speeding car and children getting killed as a consequence of the extra velocity. Nothing special, right?
Wrong! First of all, the soundtrack is a blatant use of music, as it tortures us with a dreadful cover of Guns and Roses’ Sweet Child of Mine. We thought this song could never be ruined, but, as it turns out, we were wrong.
However, that was just something to warm us up for the real deal. Details aside, the clip shows a guy pulling a handbrake turn (that’s what people do when they speed, right?) that... turns everything into a complete mess.
He hits the curb, starts rolling violently and, after some hefty air time, lands over a class of children who were out on a picnic. Obviously, everybody gets killed. As if this wasn’t enough, the video ends with a memorable message, albeit with the adjective not used for the reason intended by its creators - “Shame on You”.
The car used here is an ex-generation Vauxhall Astra (also offered as an Opel or Saturn in the US). Perhaps somebody was so dissapointed with the car that he decided to demonize the thing...
