The future is here: flying cars are no longer outlandish concepts but are making their way to some of the world's most prestigious car and lifestyle events to be admired along with their conventional counterparts. The infamous PAL-V Liberty is breaking the ice with what is gearing up to be a jaw-dropping appearance at The Aurora-Scandinavian Concours this year.
This is one of the hottest summers for the PAL-V Liberty flying car, scheduled to show up at three major automotive events in Europe. This pioneering tour de force started earlier this month in Austria, with a participation at the Red Bull Ring Classics; this month, the flying car is headed to Sweden for the luxurious Aurora-Scandinavian Concours; finally, at the beginning of August, the exciting JACK'S Racing Days event at the TT Circuit in Assen, The Netherlands, will host a highly-anticipated demo of the Liberty flying car.

Those who might have missed the Red Bull event in Austria but still hope to take a closer look at this flying car have two more opportunities until the end of the summer. Next on deck is The Aurora-Scandinavian Concours, known as the most luxurious car and lifestyle event in the region. This year, it will unfold from July 5 to July 7 in Norrviken, a breathtaking location in the center of Bastad, Sweden.

It looks like it's going to be a memorable edition, especially with the celebration of 110 Years of Maserati and 120 Years of Rolls-Royce; plus, with Koenigsegg as its Hypercar partner, this Concours d'Elegance is equally exciting for technology enthusiasts. Among classics and hypercars, the Liberty flying car will surely be a sight to behold and a glimpse into what is most likely the future of automotive.

Liberty is not just a flying car, but probably the most famous because it was the first one ever to actually combine driving and flying capabilities. This is not an eVTOL but a gyroplane integrated into a conventional car. It was formally introduced as a two-seat fly-drive aircraft and, unlike other vehicles claiming to be flying cars, it requires a much more complex, dual certification.

Performance-wise, the PAL-V Liberty promises an 817-mile (1,315 km) range on the road and a 310-mile range (500 km) in the sky. With just one fuel stop, Liberty could easily double these numbers. This futuristic two-seater is designed to reach 11,000 feet (3,350 meters) in the sky and convert into a regular car in just a few minutes before speeding at 100 mph (160 kph) on the road.

It wasn't an easy road for PAL-V, and the expectations were huge, but the Liberty flying car seems to be finally on track. Earlier this year, the Dutch company scored a huge deal for more than 100 units for a Dubai-based customer. In July, the Aurora Concours d'Elegance 2024 will mark another historic milestone for this Dutch flying car.
