We're fresh off the Ubisoft Forward presentation, where we finally saw new gameplay trailers for Assassin's Creed Shadows, Star Wars Outlaws, and The Crew Motorfest Year 2, mixed in with other surprises like the new Prince of Persia Sands of Time release date. Unfortunately, there's no Splinter Cell remake announcement, but there's always hope at The Game Awards in December.
The Crew Motorfest Year 1 ends on July 3 with the final update, Season 4, introducing content related to donk and lowrider car cultures. Season 5 begins in November 2024, and it's free of charge.

New content, like the separate island of Maui, is being introduced, meaning we're finally getting new scenery, roads, and dirt tracks. In total, we'll be driving on 214 miles or 345 km of new road networks, 142 miles or 229 kilometers of which will be on tarmac, and 118 miles or 190 km will be part of the oh-so-sweet off-roading experience.

The "Made in Japan Volume 2" Playlist will also arrive with Season 5 and Street Rivalry. More importantly, in November, "The Chase Squad" will be introduced as Premium PvE (Player versus Environment) content. We don't have a lot of detail on the matter, but from the new trailer, it's pretty safe to say it looks a lot like Need for Speed Hot Pursuit or Burnout Paradise. The aim is to chase down street racers and take them out by classicly ramming into them.

In the trailer, a Ford GT is chased by a Ford Mustang S650 generation and an Ivory-Tower Aezus, both in police car liveries. From the looks of it, we'll be in the cop cars. Ubisoft is hosting a The Crew showcase in September, during which we'll learn everything about the new Chase and Takedown mode.

The Crew Motorfest isn't doing so hot on everyone's favorite digital store, Steam. Only 404 people have played it in the past 24 hours, and its lifetime peak was 1,186 players two months ago. While it's a great, fun arcade-style racing game, review scores are mixed, with a 57% rating.

That has little to do with the game itself and more with Ubisoft pulling the plug on the first iteration of The Crew (2014). Will the Year 2 content revive the game on Steam, or will it stay the same? Nothing but patience and time can tell. In the meantime, if you haven't tried it out until now, there's a 5-hour free demo on Steam.

If you like the game, you don't have to spend the full 70 bucks on it. Motorfest is part of the $18-per-month Ubisoft+ Premium subscription service available on PC and Xbox; sorry, PlayStation players. That also goes for Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin's Creed Shadows when they come out on August 30 and November 15, respectively.
