Matching outfits with your kid is so yesterday. If you want to come across as the fashion-forward parent you want everyone to think you are, matching the kid’s ride to your own is a must.
You can do this in a variety of ways. You can buy a matching kiddie car, or you can opt for a stroller or a trike from the same carmaker that made your favorite model. For the latter, Bentley is here for you.
The company has introduced a new range of Bentley Trikes for the UK public, and at £395 ($550) a pop, it’s definitely the cheapest Bentley out there. It’s a model that boasts the same quality of design and materials you find on the real-life Bentley cars, but also versatility and reliability. Suitable for kids between 12 months and 36+ months and the equivalent of six stages of development, the Bentley Trike “grows” with the kid riding it.
Bentley tries to make it sound as if this is some revolutionary feat it came up with, but if you have a kid or are close to a family with children, you know that this particular type of multi-functionality is standard for all-in-one trikes. To give credit where credit is due, this one employs higher quality materials and, most importantly, you get it with the Bentley logos on the wheels and frame.
The Bentley Trike acts as a stroller for the baby’s first development stage and has a seat that can swivel to face backward or forward. As the child ages, the parent can choose to remove some safeguards, until, by stage six, they have a tricycle the child can pedal on their own. No fewer than 12 such safety features are incorporated, including freewheel function, foldable canopy, anti-slip pedals, wheel fenders, adjustable back support, rear brake, and a five-point seat belt.
The Bentley Trike comes in four colors (Dragon Red, Spruce, Onyx, White Satin, and Sequin Blue) with matching seats and contrasting stitching. The colors mimic color options available for real Bentleys, and the description of the Trike mentions the entire design is directly inspired by iconic Bentley cars. It also notes that parents “will treasure [this product] forever,” which is the overstatement of the week for a trike they will most likely discard once the child turns three.
