It's really nice to have memorabilia from a cool event such as the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building, and having won the first prize is even better. However, we are rather skeptical on the aesthetic value of the recently introduced AMD Champion ring design.
We couldn't tell whether this ring is a sign that the AMD Championship plans to go all bling, but this is really ugly and in brutal contrast with all motorcycles are about.
Such a ring is rather suitable for rap championships: all the gold and gems have absolutely nothing in common with the long hours builders spend in their workshops, chopping and welding, dirty with oil and grease, sweaty and often with bleeding fingers. AMD could have come up with a more proper way to express the amazing efforts bike builders make to create their masterpieces.
Aside from its inherent value as token of a great achievement in the business of custom bike building, we fail to see any connection between motorcycles, customizing and this ring. Too bad!
