March 2024 saw the Jeep brand publish a press release according to which 2024 is the final model year of the Wrangler Rubicon 392. The so-called Final Edition is limited to 3,700 units globally for 2024, with prices kicking off at $99,995 (excluding the $1,895 destination) in the United States market.
However, Jeep didn't keep its promise. Today, the Stellantis-owned marque confirmed that Wrangler 392 Final Edition will soldier on for the 2025 model year with slightly different standard kit from the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition. How much of a difference is there between them?

As per the attached release, the 83-piece tookit and triple-loop front grille guard are not coming back. Pricing information will be announced closer to the on-sale date, which is listed as "later this year." Production, meanwhile, will start in the first quarter of 2025 at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio.

Said release includes two photos depicting a Rubicon 392 Final Edition with Anvil paint and bronze wheels for the BFGoodrich rubber boots. From the names of the files uploaded to Stellantis North America's media website, it appears that it's the 2025 special edition instead of the 2024 model.

Jeep did not mention how limited the Final Edition Take Two: HEMI Boogaloo actually is, which is nigh-on insulting. Not only did Jeep break its promise of exclusivity to customers who paid in excess of a hundred grand for the 2024 model, but keeping this information under wraps is certain to make certain owners look elsewhere for their next high-performance overlander. Ford is a good alternative, with the Bronco Raptor packing 37-inch tires instead of the Rubicon 392's 35s.

However, there is a problem with the Braptor. The 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 is adequately capable on premium gas, for it produces 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet (597 Nm) of torque. From the standpoint of aural pleasure, on the other hand, there's no competition between it and the 6.4-liter HEMI free-breathing V8 we all know and love.

In this application, the pushrod eighter belts out 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet (637 Nm), therefore matching the peak torque of the Wrangler 4xe. Zero to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) takes 4.5 seconds, whereas the quarter mile is dealt with in a very respectable 13 seconds flat.

An eight-speed automatic is the only transmission available, for the Aisin-supplied manual of lesser Wranglers cannot handle this much torque. Standard equipment also includes an 8,000-pound winch, heavy-duty rock sliders, wide-track axles with Tru-Lok electronic locking differentials, an electronic front sway bar disconnect system, as well as full-time 4WD of the Selec-Trac variety.

The aforementioned winch and rock sliders set the Final Edition apart from the Rubicon 392, along with the bronze wheels in of the Xtreme 35 Package, a fold-out swing gate table, Black Nappa leather seats, exclusive decals, a half-inch suspension lift, a monogrammed shifter medallion, and a monogrammed swing gate plaque.

Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep in North America, said that “Jeep brand listened and will continue the 392 Final Edition into the 2025 model year.” In truth, there's a tidy profit to be made on a $100,000 body-on-frame SUV equipped with a relatively simple engine whose days are sadly numbered due to CAFE regulations.
